In 2024, at the request of government, the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership (Academy) undertook a Teacher Skills Gap analysis.
Rhys Doyle, principal of Kensington Community High School, has been working alongside the Academy for 10 years, 5 of which have been in the leadership space. Rhys has completed the Unlocking Potential program, as well as VAPA, which have helped him continue to better himself to be the best educator he can be.
The Victorian Aspiring Principal Assessment (VAPA) has existed since 2017. As a result of government policy, meeting the VAPA requirements became a mandatory requirement for all Victorian Principals appointed in Victorian government schools from January 1, 2022.
