    Overview

Translating the theory of explicit teaching into effective classroom practice can be challenging.

This program helps you unpack the nuance of a specific explicit teaching technique to ensure high-impact learning in your context.

By the end of this program, you will:

    • implement practical explicit teaching techniques in your classroom
    • understand why explicit teaching improves learning outcomes
    • use structured modelling and scaffolding to support all learners
    • apply specific tools directly connected to the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0.

Over 4 workshops, you will focus on the essential components of explicit teaching. You will unpack the what, why, and how of translating these into your daily practice.

    Key components

    • Planning and structuring: organise your lessons for maximum clarity.
    • Modelling and demonstrating: show students exactly how to succeed.
    • Checking for understanding: identify and address learning gaps in real-time.
    • Faded scaffolding: guide students toward independent mastery by gradually removing supports.

Each session will include practical examples and actionable insights directly connected to the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0.
