Literacy Pedagogy and Practice

Drawing on evidence-informed pedagogical and curriculum frameworks and research, this program will support you to embed the VTLM 2.0 within your practice to improve literacy outcomes for students.
The program will develop your knowledge of:
- Victoria’s approach to the teaching of reading
- the English 2.0 curriculum (F-10)
- the use of Systematic Synthetic Phonics (through the Department’s Phonics Plus resources)
- structured literacy approaches
- the ‘Big 6’.
You will build your capability to implement practices that enact explicit and high-impact literacy teaching, whether as an individual participant or part of a small school-based group.
The program provides an opportunity to collaborate with peers and learn with a network of colleagues through an area-based delivery model.
