The Thriving Through Change program provides you with practical tools and strategies needed to strengthen collective accountability and psychological safety. By mastering these frameworks, you will cultivate a growth-oriented culture capable of driving sustained school improvement, even in the most challenging environment.

Expert facilitator
Nick Conigrave
Nick Conigrave is passionate about working with leaders, individually and collectively, to help build their capability to create organisational environments where people can flourish and do their best work. He integrates theory and practice to help leaders navigate organisation transformation to adapt to rapidly changing contexts.
He was a founding member of the Global Education Leaders’ Program and continues to work with education system leaders in various settings to put in place the conditions that enable high-quality teaching and learning.
Who should apply
Roles
This program is designed for:
- principals with 5 or more years in the role
- executive class principals
- school-based or Intensive School Support school leaders with responsibility to lead a complex or challenging school, such as a turnaround or transformation school.
School sectors
This program is available to the following school sectors:
- Victorian Government
- Catholic
- independent.
Structure
Workshops
2 full-day, in person workshops held approximately 1 month apart
Peer learning groups
Throughout the program you will have the opportunity to connect with 4-5 other leaders facing challenges, and to collaborate on implementing what you’ve learned. The group will be established in the first workshop and will self-manage to connect between and beyond workshops.
Self-directed learning
Self-directed learning activities are designed to support your learning and take approximately 1-2 hours. They include:
- undertaking pre- or post-workshop readings
- implementing program learnings directly to your current school context to enhance your existing leadership practice without adding to your workload.
Completion requirements
To successfully complete this program, you must attend and complete both full day workshops.

Financial support
- Government school participants can claim CRT funding for up to 20 days across the program.
