When our learning spaces are not being used in the delivery of professional learning, they are available to Department of Education and Training (department) staff, community groups and businesses for hire.
Our learning spaces are ideal for meetings, workshops, conferences, and lectures. We also have open areas for standing events and large outdoor spaces available for informal events.
Hire a learning space
Originally designed by Henry Bastow – one of Victoria’s foremost architects of civil and public buildings – as State School No. 307 in the 1880s our Queensberry Street building was meticulously restored and redeveloped in 2012.
There are multiple learning and informal spaces you can hire within our Queensberry building. The informal spaces can be used when you hire a formal learning space or can each be hired separately.
All spaces at 603 Queensberry Street are wheelchair accessible and have interactive whiteboards, projection screens, video conferencing and Wi-Fi access.
How to book
Our learning space hire is a not-for-profit service, and the rates cover staff, administrative and maintenance costs. We offer subsidised rates to community groups and department staff.
Spaces can be hired for a half or full-day, 7 days a week between 8.00 am and 9.00 pm.
In most cases when you book a space, you will also need to pay for:
- technical support including audio-visual and video conferencing set-up and monitoring
- administration assistance including reception attendance, security and emergency assistance for after-hours and weekend bookings
- any catering or branded products.
