    Help shape the future of teacher professional learning in Victoria!  

    We are seeking teachers to participate in short research sessions to help determine future directions of professional learning at the Academy.  

    Teacher involvement and feedback is critical to ensuring the Academy provides valuable and excellent professional learning for teachers.

    The research will help us:  

    • identify the current requirements for skills and capabilities within the Victorian teaching workforce
    • determine any gaps between the required capabilities and the existing capabilities of Victorian teachers
    • prioritise areas for professional learning based on identified gaps  
    • provide recommendations for improving the skills and capabilities of the Victorian teaching workforce to the Academy and the Department of Education.  

    What's involved

    You will engage in and contribute to a focus group which represents your career stage and school setting.

    Focus group sessions are:  

    • online
    • one-hour sessions
    • after school hours, 3.50 pm - 4.50 pm
    • daily from Monday 15 - Thursday 25 July, excluding the weekend.

    Research recordings and anonymity  

    Focus groups will be audio recorded with participants’ consent. Recordings will only be used by the Academy and our research partner to aid in our research analysis. All respondents will remain anonymous and total confidentiality will be assured. In the reporting process respondents will not be identified. 


    Who can participate? 

    We are seeking 80-90 teachers who engage in professional learning programs, including classroom teachers, teacher leaders and school leaders with teaching load in their schools. 

    Teachers can register for a session that best represents their school type (primary, secondary, specialist) and career stage:

    • early (0-5 years)
    • mid (6-10 years)
    • established (11-20+ years).
