    This suite of short programs is designed to enhance your instructional leadership capabilities and introduce effective practice, frameworks and tools to support you to lead dynamic teaching and learning that improves student learning and wellbeing outcomes. 

    Through engagement with this suite, you will develop the skills and tools to identify and address the needs of learners in a flexible and responsive learning environment, while preparing them for success in an ever changing, global future.


    Audience

    Each program within this suite is designed for Victorian government school principals and system leaders, who have the option to participate with their assistant principals, learning specialists and leading teachers.


    Facilitators

    Each program is delivered by a different subject matter expert and leader in their field.


    Structure of program

    This suite comprises several short programs that are delivered in conjunction with subject matter experts. Programs are non-consecutive and can be selected according to your learning needs and interests.

    Thinking ahead: future focused leadership

    Focus on the demands of the future, as opposed to the immediate operational demands by which you, as a school leader, are frequently absorbed. Raise your sights to explore the conditions and demands of the future that will impact your learners. Gain tools and frameworks to enable you to become a leader of a ‘future-fit’ school.

    Emerging technologies in education

    Delve into emerging technologies and how they can support or hinder learning. Challenge your assumptions and identify opportunities to make better decisions about using technology in your school.

    Creating a collaborative culture

    Explore 10 key elements of collaborative cultures and 5 strategies and 12 principles that will guide you on how to create a culture that develops the whole child and considers the whole world.

    Understanding the science of learning and leading

    Understand the brain’s learning processes and how this can enhance your school’s learning environments, instructional models, and your leadership capability.


    Learning outcomes 

    Leading Teaching, Learning and Wellbeing encompasses a series of professional learning programs designed to enhance your understanding of how to:

    • apply future-focused thinking to leading teaching, learning and wellbeing  
    • apply the science of learning to create effective learning environments  
    • use structures to shape a collaborative school culture and build relational trust   
    • evaluate instructional models to facilitate student-centred learning  
    • leverage technologies to promote collaboration, engagement, and creativity.
