Influence your school’s 2023 literacy and numeracy approach.

Future Focus will support you in collaboratively reviewing existing literacy and numeracy initiatives in your school setting, and developing an informed and rigorous plan for next year.

In the workshops, delivered by Simon Breakspear, you will use data and evidence to evaluate the impact of current literacy and numeracy strategies in your school setting.

Learn to implement innovative planning protocols and data collection tools to embed continuous improvement.

Audience 

Designed for Victorian government primary and secondary school teacher leaders, literacy and numeracy leaders, and learning specialists.

We recommend that you attend with a colleague from your school.

Facilitator

Designed and delivered by Dr Simon Breakspear, researcher, policy advisor and speaker on education policy, practice and change.

Simon develops frameworks, tools and programs that make evidence-based ideas easy to understand and apply.

Simon and his team partner with schools and systems around the world. Over the last decade, he has worked with over 100,000 educators across 10 countries and is known for his engaging, practical and evidence-informed approach.

You will focus on data collection and analysis to ascertain the impact of 2022 school improvement initiatives and project forward into 2023 with proposed improvement activity

Your team will spend some time in breakout sessions using protocols provided to plan collaboratively and sharing with the wider group to strengthen collective efficacy across the system.

Primary intake

Online workshops are delivered over three, 1.5-hour sessions.

You will also need to engage in self-directed learning activities in your own time (up to 1.5 hours) including professional readings and data collection.

Secondary intake

Online workshops are delivered over two, 3-hour sessions

You will gain knowledge and understanding of:

  • practical tools to support evaluation of whole school improvement initiatives
  • how to effectively plan and design impactful literacy and numeracy approaches
  • the skills required to support data analysis and collection to inform whole school improvement
  • how to influence school-wide improvement agendas.
