Evidence-informed Teaching of Reading
This webinar clarifies the Department of Education's new Victorian Teaching and Learning Model. It will also help participants understand the evidence-base for the model and begin planning their implementation and approach to teaching reading.
The webinar unpacks systematic synthetic phonics and its place in a broad and comprehensive literacy structure, including the big six in reading. You’ll understand how explicit teaching can be used as a highly reciprocal and responsive process for student engagement.
You will leave empowered to roll out the directive in your school, by seeing sample models of the literacy block, and learning about available DE resources and other supports.
